Because of the design of reel mowers, the reel and bed knife create a scissor cut that is much different than the machete cut that is done by rotary mowers. This helps to keep the grass healthy and does not fray the top edge of the grass like rotary mowers - which can open the blade of grass to disease.

Precision Cut (Palisades Zoysia)

With 8 different height of cut positions located at the base of the mower, the height adjuster allows you to select a cutting range from 3/8" to 1-7/8". Consistent precision cutting is a big part of proper lawn maintenance.
